Thomas Sullivan was born in County Cork in Ireland. His date of birth is not known but we think he was born in 1859. He was sent to live in England as a very young boy when the churches in Ireland were being burnt down. The Catholic Church took charge of him and many others.
He married Mary Sheehan on 19th April 1880 in Marylebone, London. They lived with Mary's parents at 5 Edwards Place, London, Middlesex after they were married. They were shown to be living there at the time of the 1881 census along with their 1 year old son Noah and the rest of Mary's family. The census shows that Thomas was a painter's labourer and Mary was a milk carrier. At one time the family lived at 7 Luton St, Edgeware Road, Paddington, London and then moved to St. John's Wood. He is buried in the Kensal Green (St. Mary's) R.C cemetery.
