Victory Medal

On the obverse is Athene Nike, or Victory. Anybody who received a Mention in Dispatches was authorised to wear a single oak leaf in bronze sewn onto the ribbon. he medal, designed by W. McMillan, based on the French design, was authorised to negate the exchange of Allied Commemorative medals, hence it is sometimes referred to as the allied medal as the 13 allied nations all based their design round 'Victory'.

These all had a distinct double rainbow ribbon. The medal was issued to all those whom already had qualified for the 1914 and 1914-15 Stars, also to most of those whom got the British War Medal.
